3D Robot Character Design Week 6

3D Robot Character Design       Week 6 (16/2/2023) Today was the week to finish the robot modeling and texturing. I didn't have much time to do the texturing, but I finished modeling and putting colors I designed for the character. I put the light dome to see how the lizard would look like when rendered.  I forgot to use aiStandardSurface to put coloring and used Lambert instead. I realized that the colors would become lighter when used lambert. I will have to change that later.  front side render Side view render  back side render There were many things for me to change in the modeling so it took more time for me to do the UVs and coloring.  I haven't done the pivot point yet.

3D Robot Character Design Week 5

3D Robot Character Design       Week 5 (9/2/2023) Just a little change,  My model's shoulder ball joint was actually attached to the upper body. But I thought and realized that if the ball joint was too close to the shoulder, the hands would overlap the upper body. So I added an extruded cylinder to the shoulder to make space for the ball to move around.  Today is the second last week for me to finish my robot modeling and texturing. Here is the progress of my design so far.  I have made the the overall shape except for the neck, backbone, and tail, which contains many ball joints.  I honestly regretted making too many ball joints for my lizard, but since they are supposed to be flexible, I would have to go on.  I only made the half part of the robot and mirrored it to the -x side to make the whole shape. I mirrored the head, mouth, upper body and lower body as 'combined to original' so they wont be separate mesh. I then mirrored the o...

3D Robot Character Design Week 4

3D Robot Character Design       Week 4 (2/2/2023) I did an orthographic design of the robot I made These are the Top, Side, Front view of the robot. I sent this to my lecturer for confirmation and I got the feedback. My lecturer wanted me to make the upper body bigger since the head was too big for the thin neck.  If the upper body is too small, it would look abnormal if matching the human body. So I changed the upper body broader and the backbone thicker to match the human features.  After changing it, I moved into modeling it.  But I am planning to make the upper body more slender due to the arm movement's limitation and to look sneakier than bulky. Today was also the day to present our STORYBOARD .  My lecturer told me that the overall storyboard was okay. He asked me how I would make the lasers so I honestly told him that I haven't thought of it yet.  I thought I had to use some hard tools, but my lecturer told me to use a very long, ...
